Before he dies he confers the Job of Keeper of the Portals on her. She has no idea what that means since she didn’t even know the Keeper existed. Her task is first to find the keys to all the portals, get the immortals to enter and lock each so the immortals will be safe from the demon. The second task is to find the demon and send him to the Netherworld. The Keeper of the Portals has always been handed down to adults that have been trained for years. Because demon hunting is an extremely dangerous occupation.

Keeper Book Two

After Shenshee and her friends send not one but two demons to the Netherworld, she feels she can finally relax. But Sir Torgus, her teacher that doesn’t seem to like her, shows up and demands she be schooled during the summer season, by him.

Zeela Slitten then claims that her grandfather owes a large amount of money. Zeela wants Shen to give up her grandfather’s cabin, but Shen refuses. Shenshee is then obligated to work for Zeela, until the debt is paid off.
Just as she gets used to the idea of not having a life of her own, she discovers there is another threat; a demon is endangering her and the whole town.
